Beverly Friday A woman told police at 4:08 p.m. that someone stole her purse while she was at One Stop Market on Rantoul Street. Police received a report at 9 p.m. that a man got out of his truck and tied his dogs to a post while he went inside a West Street business, but when he left, he forgot his dogs. The man eventually came back for his dogs.

A Massachusetts state trooper from Stoneham and two alleged co-conspirators have been indicted by a Suffolk County grand jury for allegedly providing fraudulent vehicle inspection forms in exchange for cash payments, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said on Thursday.
